Family Therapy in Toronto
Every family experiences challenges. Whether you're navigating conflict, communication difficulties, changes at home, or concerns about your child's emotional well-being, family therapy provides a supportive space to work through these challenges together.
At J Cohen Therapy, we work with families to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and develop practical strategies that support a healthier family dynamic.
How Family Therapy Can Help
Family therapy can support families experiencing:
Frequent arguments or communication difficulties
Parent-child conflict and relationship challenges
Emotional or behavioural difficulties affecting family life
Changes in family structure, separation, or divorce
Difficulty establishing boundaries and expectations
Challenges navigating different parenting approaches
Stress related to ADHD, anxiety, or emotional regulation
Major life transitions and changes at home
Our Approach
We take a collaborative, strengths-based approach that recognizes each family member's perspective and the unique dynamics within the family.
Together, we'll work to identify patterns that may be contributing to conflict, build healthier ways of communicating, and develop practical tools to navigate challenges.
Our goal is to create a supportive environment where family members feel heard, understood, and better equipped to work through difficulties together.
What to Expect
Family therapy is tailored to your family's needs. Sessions may involve parents and children together, parent-only meetings, or different family members at different times, depending on the concerns being addressed.
We'll begin by discussing the challenges your family is experiencing and identifying goals for our work together.
Session Options
Family therapy is available in person at Yonge and Eglinton, in-home throughout select Toronto neighbourhoods, and virtually across Ontario.
