Adult Therapy in Toronto
Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, or navigating a major life transition, therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand yourself and work through challenges.
At J Cohen Therapy, we provide individualized support to help adults navigate difficult emotions, develop practical coping strategies, and build greater confidence in their everyday lives.
How Adult Therapy Can Help
Adult therapy can provide support with:
Anxiety, excessive worry, and stress
Emotional regulation and managing overwhelming feelings
Relationship challenges and communication difficulties
Self-esteem and confidence
Life transitions and personal challenges
ADHD and executive functioning difficulties
Setting boundaries and developing healthy coping strategies
Understanding unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours
Our Approach
We take a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy, recognizing that every individual brings their own experiences, challenges, and goals.
Drawing on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, and Motivational Interviewing, we work with clients to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
Sessions are tailored to your needs, with a focus on developing practical tools, strengthening coping skills, and supporting meaningful change.
What to Expect
Therapy begins with an opportunity to discuss what's bringing you in, explore your concerns, and identify what you'd like to work toward.
Sessions provide a confidential, non-judgmental space to reflect on your experiences, explore patterns, and develop strategies that can be applied outside of therapy.
Whether you're working through a specific challenge or looking to better understand yourself, therapy moves at a pace that feels comfortable and appropriate for you.
Session Options
Adult therapy is available in person at Yonge and Eglinton, in-home throughout select Toronto neighbourhoods, and virtually across Ontario.
